A room with a view….

A room with a view….

This morning I awoke to yet another beautiful sight outside my bedroom balcony. As the sun was breaking on the horizon, to either side of it were two semi-circle prisms of light. In all my years, I have never seen such a sight. As it was bitterly cold (so cold I had to sleep in an interior bedroom last night) I ran to get my fur coat and hat before even opening the doors to take the picture(s).

For this shot I used my Canon 35 mm camera.

I posted this picture on Facebook and asked for scientific enlightenment. What in the heck was going on in the morning sky? I was offered this page from Wikipedia. Thank you friends!

This past week has been such a bizarre time. The world has seemed to have shut down in West Mighican. The store I work at in town has been closed for three and a half days. Most people are not venturing out unless they have to. Restaurants are closed, the post office is not deliverying mail. It has been bitterly cold and yet beautiful from my view on the 5th floor of my apartment building. I have lived here coming up on a year and have just loved looking out the windows, watching the changing morning to evening sky. From season to season. And this morning touched me like no other. Polar Vortex - thank you for the time out from the busyness of everyday life. I’ve watched more TV than EVER, have written, cooked and not left my home for days. I’m not complaining.
